Telecom subscribers’ base within the nation declined to 116.6 crore in February this 12 months, with gamers like Reliance Jio and Vodafone Concept shedding prospects within the cellular providers section throughout the interval.

Vodafone Concept (VI) continued to lose its cellular subscribers. It misplaced 15.32 lakh cellular subscribers whereas BSNL and MTNL misplaced 1.11 lakh and 5,097 such prospects, respectively.

Bharti Airtel added 15.91 lakh new prospects in February.

The expansion pattern in wireline subscriber base, which picked up after the primary wave of the coronavirus pandemic, is gaining momentum with non-public telecom operators driving the expansion within the section.

“Wireline subscribers elevated from 24.21 million on the finish of January-2022 to 24.52 million on the finish of February-2022. Internet improve within the wireline subscriber base was 0.31 million with a month-to-month development fee of 1.27 per cent,” Trai report stated.

Reliance Jio led the expansion within the wireline section by including 2.44 lakh prospects. It was adopted by Bharti Airtel which added 91,243 prospects, Vodafone Concept (24,948), Quadrant (18,622) and Tata Teleservices (3,772).

The federal government-owned BSNL and MTNL, who collectively have a 49.5 per cent share within the section, misplaced 49,074 and 21,900 fastened line prospects, respectively.

Broadband subscriber base within the nation declined marginally to 78.33 crore in February from 78.34 crore in January.

“High 5 service suppliers constituted 98.5 per cent market share of the overall broadband subscribers on the finish of February-22. These service suppliers have been Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd (40.77 crore), Bharti Airtel (21.31 crore), Vodafone Concept (12.19 crore), BSNL (2.67 crore) and Atria Convergence (20.6 lakh),” the report stated.
